  [List Roster]        Details:  (Event ID = 2984)   Participants will experience 2 distinct, but interrelated sessions in this workshop. First, attendees will actively work through how and why the PLC process fits into the larger scheme of what effective schools do. Namely, effective schools have a well thought out and standard-driven guaranteed and viable curriculum, aligned common formative assessments, effective PLC culture and processes, and a robust response to intervention program. Each part is a gear in a well-oiled machine that works cohesively to move students forward in the academic growth and achievement. By the end of this session, participants will fully understand the systemic best practices all school should engage with for improved targeted student growth. In the second session, participants will "zoom in" on the PLC process and actually conduct PLC meetings for their intended purposes: To design curriculum and aligned assessments To analyze student performance on those assessments by standard and level of rigor To develop strategies based upon results to target individual student learning This process synthesizes DuFour's work and the 4 PLC questions with Visible Learning, rigorous Curriculum Design, and UbD.
