  [List Roster]        Details:  (Event ID = 2968)   This workshop consists of 1 full day (August 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) and 1/2 day on (September 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m); participants MUST attend both days. Come join your fellow special education colleagues as we learn about the IEP referral process. This discussion will include information on collaborative teams and academic interventions that work in the regular education setting (i.e., a review of some research), as well as what happens when those interventions are no longer working or not rigorous enough to close the gaps. From there, a mock IEP meeting will take place to role play various scenarios and issues. When a student as an IEP and individualized education begins we will explore best practices for students with special needs. LRE will be addressed with an emphasis on inclusion with some specific case examples. Finally, the September half day training will include a review of the information and strategies shared as well as problem solving various IEP situations and celebrations. Targeted audience: Teachers, Administrators, Related Support Personnel
