|[List Roster] Details: (Event ID = 2849) One in 5 students in the United States is dyslexic, most are not diagnosed and will probably never have an official diagnois, they simply struggle in silence. Since 1930, educators who work with dyslexic students and research best practices for addressing their learning needs have known that systematic intensive, multi-sensory instruction that focuses on phonemic awareness and phonics is the key to teaching students with dyslexia to decode so that they may read fluently and comprehend what they are reading. This workhsop will introduce teachers to the basics of teaching dyslexic students to read along with some history and facts about dyslexia and characteristics of dyslexic learners.|
